The Daily Sunset Jan. 30, 2006

Chilly and hazy but still nice tonight.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 29, 2006

It's kind of hard to see but what looks like a stick in the wave right in
the center is actually a pelican diving
for a little "evening drive" snack before bedtime.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 28, 2006

As I'm talking to friend of all friends
the ending of the day unfolds and makes
a blazing crown for the sun.
Thank you John,
for all your prayers for me!
They were answered!

The Daily Sunset Jan. 27, 2006

After glow. Too slow to have caught the sun actually setting.
Roomie having a beer while we play poker.
Beamish on the inside,
Beamish on the outside,
and Beamish on his shirt...
he's a Beamhead...
but I like him.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 26, 2006

A splash of seagulls trace
the darkening ocean's face.
Homeward bound to spend the night,
making the rocks white.

The Daily Sunset Catches Up (again)

I don't get home in time to catch the sunsets real regularly and I sit at a computer all day so here's a couple that I took last weekend and didn't get around to posting.
The one below in the center is a destroyer and
the big one to the right is a giant Navy hospital ship.
Just another nice one.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 24, 2005

Home tonight for the sunset.

The Daily Sonset Jan. 16, 2006

I don't think that I'll post a picture tonight.
I just realized that, in all my posts, I have never once mentioned the name,
Jesus.
It is Jesus that saved me,
and Jesus that owns me.
It is Jesus that determines my comings and goings.
Blesses me with the place I live,
and the friends I have.
Peace and Joy always are mine,
In His Holy Name,
Jesus!
Father God,
Who, for reasons only known only by you,
and for your own purposes,
have given me and all of us life abundant upon this earth.
Thank you,
I love you,
Martin...
in Jesus' name.
Aw, okay, just one picture though. After all,
God makes 'em,
I just push the button.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 14, 2006

How do you relate to someone who has become suddenly dear,
the blazing glory and wonder that was tonight's sunset;
when she, tonight, is so very...
sad?
I feel your sadness and pray for you
the fullness of the Lord's lovingkindness
and His peace.

I think that I'll keep you in my heart tonight...

it's warm there.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 09, 2006

A palm tree reaches skyward,
facing the ocean and all it's power,
perfectly suited to this and determined to stay put,
it kind of reminds me of...me!

The Daily Sunset Jan. 07, 2006

Not the usual evening spectacular,
just the end of another day that The Lord has given me.
"Thank You" he says, as he bows his head.

The Daily Sunset Jan. 06, 2006

Taking pictures here can be really strange.
Notice that the palm tree is straight to the edges of the picture,
but the ocean appears to be on a slant.
Either the ocean is straight or the tree is...but then it could just be me!

The Daily Sunset Jan. 05, 2006

Ah the vagaries of the weather.
Monday's roaring storm gives way
to sudden 80 degree weather.
Go ahead, ask me if I mind!
Venus broaching the clouds almost as bright as the moon.

The Daily Moonset Jan. 3, 2006

A silver smile shining in the dark,
saying simply,
Goodnight!
Sleep well!

The Daily Sunset Jan. 02, 2006

Okay, so it's not always Summer in SoCal.
This storm blew in and was really bending the palm trees and whipping up whitecaps.

Here, the seagulls are heading in the direction that they couldn't go all day because of the wind.

I sure didn't figure on there being a sunset tonight but voila!

Here it is!

The Daily Sunset (last of 2005)

The day after Christmas.
The days are finally going to get longer.
Chaching!
I don't have one for the end of the year because of the cloud layer but here's one from Dec. 29th.
I even did Christmas lights this year.
Christmas day 2005

And so ends the year,

But then begins another.

The cycle of life is reborn,

And a chance to do better...

Always better!

Amen!
